01 — The craft
Wrap Marine is a specialist marine wrapping company working from Totton, Southampton — at the top of a stretch of water with more boats per mile than anywhere in the UK.
We wrap hulls and superstructures, set out stripes and graphics, refinish interiors in architectural film, cut deck grip to pattern and hand-paint transom names. Sail and power, tender to super yacht.
Every job is measured, prepared and fitted by hand. The film is the easy part; what separates a wrap that lasts from one that lifts is the four hours nobody photographs.

A wrap protects the gel coat it sits on and comes off cleanly. A respray is permanent, and every subsequent owner inherits it.

No spray booth, no weeks of masking and flatting. Most boats are back afloat in a fraction of the time a paint job would take.

Pontoon rash, a scuffed boarding gate or a damaged panel can be re-wrapped in isolation rather than blended across the topsides.

Colour-shift, metallic, satin, matte, textured and printed film — finishes that are difficult, slow or very expensive to achieve in paint.
02 — Services
Most projects combine two or three of these. A hull colour change with a new sheer stripe; a superstructure with matching deck grip. Told as one job, quoted as one price.
A full hull colour change without a single litre of paint. Cast vinyl is fitted to the gel coat as one continuous skin — colour, gloss or matte finish, reversible, and protecting the surface underneath while it is on.
Coachroof, hard tops, radar arches and window surrounds. The compound curves that make a superstructure difficult are where wrapping earns its place — heat-formed film taken around every return and tucked out of sight.
Sheerline stripes, cove lines, boot tops and full custom graphics. Set out by eye and by measurement so the line reads true from the pontoon, from the water and from a hundred metres off the beam.
3M DI-NOC architectural film applied to galley fronts, saloon joinery, bulkheads and heads. Real wood grain, stone and brushed metal textures that refresh a dated interior without stripping it out.
Non-slip deck film in a full range of colours and grades — cut to pattern for side decks, foredecks, cockpit soles, steps and swim platforms. Grip where it is needed, clean edges everywhere else.
Traditional sign painting by hand. Our signwriter restores existing transom lettering or develops something new with you — brush-painted and gilded, in the way it has always been done.

04 — Transformation
Old graphics stripped back to bare gel coat, the surface decontaminated, and a new stripe package set out and fitted in cast film. Same boat, same week.
05 — Materials
We work only with premium cast films from 3M, Avery Dennison and Oracal, plus 3M DI-NOC for interiors. Cheaper calendered vinyl shrinks and lifts on compound curves — which is exactly what a boat is made of.

Samples are the only honest way to choose. We bring physical swatches to the boat and hold them against the gel coat in daylight — a metallic grey that looks perfect on a screen can read green against a cream deck.
06 — Process
One point of contact from the first survey to handover, and a programme built around your lift dates rather than ours.
We look at the boat, take the measurements that matter and put real film samples against the gel coat in daylight. Screens flatter colours; hulls do not.
An itemised price covering film, labour, removal of existing graphics and any surface work — with a programme that fits around your season and your yard.
The single biggest factor in how long a wrap lasts. Decontamination, degrease, removal of old vinyl and adhesive, and attention to every edge the film has to hold.
Film laid, heat-formed, post-heated and edge-sealed by hand. We hand the boat back with aftercare guidance for washing, polishing and winter cover.
07 — Precision
A wrap fails at its edges, and edges fail because of preparation. Everything below is standard on every boat we take on — it is not an upgrade and it is not optional.

09 — Questions
With premium cast film, correct preparation and sensible aftercare, expect five to seven years on vertical topsides. Horizontal surfaces take more UV and weather, so they age faster.
No. Applied to sound gel coat, the film protects the surface from UV and light abrasion, and removes cleanly at the end of its life. Wrapping is entirely reversible.
It depends on size, condition and scope. A stripe package can be a day or two; a full hull and superstructure is measured in weeks — still far quicker than a respray.
Yes. We work across the Solent and travel nationally and internationally for larger projects. Conditions on site determine what is sensible, and we will tell you honestly.
Wash with mild detergent and soft mitts, avoid abrasive polishes and high-pressure lances at the edges, and use a fitted cover through winter. We hand over full guidance on completion.
